Chairman and Founding Partner
Charles Tate founded Capital Royalty in 2003 after a successful 35-year career in investment banking and private equity. Before launching Capital Royalty, Mr. Tate was a Partner and Executive Committee Member of Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst from 1991 to 2002 and for 19 years was at Morgan Stanley & Co. —11 years as a Managing Director in both its M&A and merchant banking divisions.
Mr. Tate received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1968 from The University of Texas at Austin, where he is a distinguished alumnus and member of the McCombs School of Business Hall of Fame. He received an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in 1972 and has been a member of its Board of Overseers since 2001.
